How to protect a strong market position

Free Spirit is a respected Leighton Buzzard car dealership supplying about 700 used cars per year. It's a good position to be in, one which marketing support can consolidate.

Trustworthy family-run business

With a strong local market and sales from further afield in the UK overseas steadily growing, the business is doing well. The directors' key skills lie in dealing directly with the public, sourcing stock and running the business smoothly. As a family-run business, Free Spirit trades on its excellent reputation and has very high scores when it comes to loyalty and repeat business.

"Mick's been supporting our social media for over a year and has consistently delivered good service. He's created a vast amount of good content, including lots of visual material and some short videos, and made sure we had daily updates."

Jamie Derbyshire, Owner, Free Spirit

As well as car sales Free Spirit's busy MOT and Service centre needed marketing. Director Jamie Derbyshire chose to outsource day-to-day Facebook marketing so he could spend more quality time managing and on customer-facing work.

Focus on the customers

The job was to consolidate the Free Spirit's strong market position via Facebook. This meant spreading good news about the business and positioning it favourably for online prospects and those who have been recommended to Free Spirit. Jamie Derbyshire:

"Mick has developed and grown our social media following considerably. Our outreach and connection with the local community is also much better, we get a lot of enquiries from Facebook now."
